Keane Bridge
The Keane Bridge is a notable landmark of Sylhet city.
It is called the gateway to Sylhet city. This iron bridge was built in
the year 1936 over the river Surma and was named after the British
governor of Assam of the time, Sir Micheal Keane (b.1874-d.1937). The
bridge is 1150 feet lengths and 18 feet breadth. It is a steel truss
bridge and such bridges are one of the oldest types of modern bridges.
